I personally always thought that the touchdown jesus was a waste of money. If it is true that they sunk half of a million dollars into it's creation, then the people who conceived such an idea need to step back a bit and look again at their "investment." It went up in a POOF. Take the insurance money, raze the statue remnants, and do something practical with the money instead of being extremely flambouyant. Half a million dollars will feed a lot of hungry stomachs, provide training in ministry, support missionaries around the world, and even maybe perhaps help some locals find the way, the truth and the life. But the statue in itself, I personally see was a huge throwaway of good money. | |
